Charlotte Flair has had a number of huge rivalries with pretty much every current female star in WWE.

The daughter of the legendary Ric Flair, Charlotte Flair only made her pro wrestling debut in 2012, but she’s already likely to be considered one of WWE’s greatest female wrestlers of all time. In addition to capturing 15 singles championships (and counting), Flair is also credited for leading the charge in the promotion’s reinvention of its presentation of female wrestlers.

Moving up from NXT to the WWE main roster in 2015, Flair has had a number of huge rivalries with pretty much every current female star in WWE and at least one from the past. Let’s take a look at the most important of these feuds, starting with the weakest and moving on to the best.

In 2014, Charlotte Flair put away Natalya to capture her first championship, the NXT Women’s Championship, in a great match that highlighted both women’s status as second-generation stars. Two years later, the two renewed their rivalry on the main roster, feuding over Charlotte Flair’s Women’s Championship. While their second-generation status was once again part of the angle, the feud was executed in a far worse way, in particular during their bout at Payback 2016 which ended in yet another rehashing of the Montreal Screwjob.

Charlotte Flair made her debut on the WWE main roster as part of Team PCB with Becky Lynch and Paige, but Paige was quick to turn on Flair after the latter won the Divas Championship. From there, Charlotte and Paige had some solid matches for the title, but that isn’t why the feud is ranked so low. Because this was early in Flair’s run, she wasn’t yet a well-developed character and thus paled in comparison to Page. What’s worse, however, is the incorporation of the real-life death of her brother Reid in the angle, which many found to be offensive.

During the Divas Revolution angle, Team PCB was mainly at odds with Team Bella, which was composed of Divas division veterans Alicia Fox, Brie Bella, and Divas Champion Nikki Bella. Much like the above feuds, the angle was also weak, in this case doing a poor job of getting fans to support the newly brought up women against the established stars.

However, the angle was a landmark one for Charlotte Flair, as she was able to end Nikki Bella’s record 301-day reign with the Divas Championship, beginning her reign as one of the top stars of WWE’s women’s division.

Despite debuting as a face, Charlotte Flair excelled on the main roster once she turned heel, and in 2019 began proclaiming herself WWE’s greatest female star, which was pretty much bait for a still-capable female legend to show up and attempt to put Flair in her place. That legend was Trish Stratus, who took on Charlotte Flair in a great match at SummerSlam. The bout didn’t just function as Stratus’ retirement match, but also as a passing of the torch between a legend and the heir to the throne.

In 2020, Charlotte Flair won the women’s Royal Rumble, which gave her the right to challenge for whatever women’s title she wanted to at WrestleMania 36. Rather than choose Raw’s or SmackDown’s championships, she went after NXT, which was still being put forward as WWE’s “third brand” at the time. As a result, she became an amazing heel presence in her old stomping grounds of NXT, and managed to dethrone champion Rhea Ripley at ‘Mania. She’d lose the belt a couple of months later, but she and Ripley would renew their rivalry on the main roster, clashing for the Raw Women’s Championship and once again dethroning Ripley.

Given that Charlotte Flair is pro wrestling royalty and fully knows it, it’s only natural that she feud with Bayley, who in her babyface form is a hard-working underdog who had to evolve from a naive newcomer to a legitimate contender. Their initial feud on the main roster, starting in late 2016 was an extremely Dusty Rhodes vs. Ric Flair kind of affair, with Bayley chasing the belt until she finally got the best of Charlotte on a Raw in February 2017. The would rekindle their rivalry in 2019, with Bayley cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase, leading to Bayley turning heel and the two rivals trading the belt.

While Ronda Rousey is certainly a controversial figure for reasons kayfabe and non-kayfabe, she and Charlotte Flair have an amazing rivalry, as the two are both put forward as the pinnacle of their respective sports. Along with Becky Lynch, Flair and Rousey became the first women to headline WrestleMania 35 in 2019, with their hectic rivalry showcasing three women gunning for the top stop in WWE.

In 2022, Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey had a one-on-one rivalry that was even more intense than their previous one, with a palpable hatred between the two competitors evident in their bouts at WrestleMania 38 and the subsequent WrestleMania Backlash.

Outside of the Four Horsewomen of NXT, Charlotte Flair’s biggest rival is arguably Asuka, considered one of the best wrestlers in the world and who racked up a tremendous undefeated streak after signing to WWE. Upon winning the Royal Rumble, Asuka set her sights on Charlotte Flair and the SmackDown Women’s Championship, leading to an incredible matchup at WrestleMania 34, in which Flair proved to be the one to end Asuka’s streak. It was an incredible moment, and Asuka has been a thorn in Flair’s side ever since, most recently in a three-way for the Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania Backlash in 2022.

Despite the Four Horsewomen grouping, Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair debuted on opposing teams during the Divas Revolution angle in 2015 but found themselves as rivals during a singles feud over the summer of 2016. Their rivalry lasted six months, with the underdog Banks dethroning Flair early on, though the two would trade the belt multiple times over the course of the feud. A competitive rivalry, this storyline would result in the first-ever women’s Hell in a Cell Match and culminate in a 30-minute Iron Man match at the end of the year, which Flair would win.

It’s tough to imagine now given her top star status, but Becky Lynch was sort of the bridesmaid of the Four Horsewomen, who never got same opportunities as her contemporaries did. This came into play in 2018, as Charlotte Flair wormed her way into a match where it seemed all but guaranteed that Becky Lynch would capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Flair ended up winning, but Becky Lynch snapped and turned heel, reinventing herself as “The Man” and becoming one of the most popular stars in the company, resulting in some awesome clashes at Hell in a Cell and Evolution.
